Sourav is an icon, says Big B

There is no dearth of Sourav Ganguly's fans and incidentally the Star of the Millennium is one of them. "He is a national icon and hero and he brought attitude to the Indian team," says Amitabh Bachchan on the former Indian cricket captain. We caught up with Bachchan on his decision to give the introductory narration for The Warrior Prince, a documentary on Ganguly directed by Mitali Ghoshal. This will be the first ever full-fledged documentary on Ganguly and Big B is proud to be associated with it. "He is a most worthy and loved son of India and I do it because the documentary honours him," adds Bachchan to The Day After.

Bachchan also speaks of his close bonding with the most successful Indian skipper in Test matches. "He is a friend and I have known him for some years," says the actor. And on another note, Bachchan elaborates, "I also do it because he is from Bengal and I am Bengal's jamai babu". The 80-minute documentary will also feature various personalities like Ganguly's father, brother, wife, ex India skipper Mohd. Azharuddin, and former Indian coach Greg Chappell and even Ganguly's Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan speaking on the stylish cricketer.
